Nicolle Mitchell & her daughter assumed some aliases “Nixy the Rainbow Pixy” & “Strawberry Bloom the Rainbow Faery” to deliver Story Hands Massage workshops. Nixy & Strawberry introduced a “Rainbow of Massage” a model of massage moves designed to apply to rhymes, songs & stories. When participants had warmed to the theme everyone was invited to join in the telling of Nixy’s own Armadillo Stories.
Armadillo is an unassuming heroine who comes across social or personal issues with herself or friends & finds ways to practically resolve them. Issues in the stories range from bullying to being different, isolation to attachment issues. The social stories go down well & one dad fed back that his overtired son’s tantrums were turned quickly in to sweet dreams using the story hands massage tools … yes they really work.
Next stop is Port Eliot. If you are going Nixy & Strawberry will be in the Surrender Sanctuary at 5pm on Friday 28th & Sunday 30th July.
Nicolle is available for Story Hands workshops at schools, brownies, scouts, wellbeing events, conferences & any community organisations. Feel free to get in touch on Mob: 07899944650, Email: & coming soon – a new website: where you will be able to download story cards with different social themes. You can also follow Story Hands Massage Cornwall on Facebook for updates.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong (also spelt Qigong/Chi Kung/Chi Gung) translates from the Chinese as “energy work”. It’s a collective term for movement exercises, breathing techniques, meditation and energy healing. Qi Gong has many of the attributes of Tai Chi (Taijiquan) and Hatha Yoga, but simplier and a lot easier to learn and practice. Exercises are like Tai Chi in style but practiced singularly and repetitively, but not so stretchy as Yoga and is done mainly standing up. This makes the exercises suitable for all ages and abilities.

Benefits of Qigong exercises are:

Improved breathing
Readjustment of posture and biomechanics
Relaxation and improved state of mind
Cultivation of internal energy for health
More energy to do those things you wish to do in life
Stimulation of blood circulation and lymphatic drainage
No equipment or special clothing is necessary
