Gemma Starling is a fully qualified Traditional Acupuncturist (LicAc). Upon graduating from The Acupuncture Academy in Royal Leamington Spa, Gemma was awarded with a ‘distinction’ and was also ‘highly commended’ for her clinical work. Her training was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory, with a focus on the ‘Five Element’ approach.
Gemma is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC) and adheres to the council’s ‘Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct’. She is also registered with the Professional Standards Authority which is a government body set up to regulate health and social care providers.
Previously a primary school teacher, Gemma became interested in Traditional Acupuncture after experiencing for herself the health benefits of acupuncture in her twenties.
Having already helped to alleviate a wide range of symptoms in her existing clients, Gemma is committed to helping others through this ancient form of medicine.
The focus for a Traditional Acupuncturist is to treat holistically rather than treating individual symptoms. This is because a Traditional Acupuncturist views all symptoms (physical, mental and emotional) as part of an interconnected pattern and aims to achieve balance throughout the body. Therefore you might commence treatment with the hope of eradicating a particular symptom and be delighted to find that other symptoms happen to resolve at the same time.
Many people choose to have acupuncture to help with a wide range of problems such as anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, fatigue, arthritis, back pain, vertigo, allergies, and low immunity to name just a few. Others choose to use acupuncture as a preventative treatment to help avoid illness and maintain good health.
