Gemma Starling

Acupuncture Intern

Gemma Starling is currently a Traditional Acupuncture intern who is approaching the end of her three year degree-level Licentiate course  at The Acupuncture Academy in Royal Leamington Spa. After receiving extensive in-depth training over a period of two and a half years (with a focus on the Five Element approach),  Gemma has been issued with ‘pre-qualification status’. This enables her to practice safely and competently under indirect supervision until completing the final part of her course. Her course is fully accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board and leads to full membership with the British Acupuncture Council.

Previously a primary school teacher, Gemma became interested in Traditional Acupuncture after experiencing the health benefits herself in her twenties. Having already helped to alleviate a wide range of symptoms in her existing clients, she is committed to helping others using this ancient form of medicine.

Traditional Acupuncture

The focus for a Traditional Acupuncturist is to treat holistically rather than by treating individual symptoms. This is because a Traditional Acupuncturist views all symptoms (physical, mental and emotional) as part of an interconnected pattern and aims to achieve balance throughout the body. Therefore you might commence treatment with the hope of eradicating a particular symptom and be delighted to find that other symptoms happen to resolve at the same time.

Many people choose to have acupuncture to help with a wide range of problems such as anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, fatigue, arthritis, back pain, vertigo, allergies, and low immunity to name just a few. Others choose to use acupuncture as a preventative treatment to help avoid illness and maintain good health.
