Beat this summers
blues !
We
rely
on
our beautiful Cornish sun to revive our spirits and encourage us to
spend time
outside, at the beach and in the countryside, where we appreciate the
warmth on
our skin, the fresh air and the plants and flowers that grow around us.
But some people suffer from allergic
reactions to pollen
you may recognize one or all of these symptoms, often one leads to the
other
allergic reactions.
Cold – Watery
eyes Runny nose
Heat – Red eyes,
Sore Throat, Sinus pain, Headaches, Sneezing, Dry tickly Cough,
Sinusitis,
rhinitis
Phlegm –
Congestion, moodiness, poor concentration, nausea
The body
is trying to rid
itself of what it perceives as an invader (pollen or dust ) and is
trying to
sneeze, drip, cough or try constantly to flush your
inflamed
eyes.
So,
how can you help
yourself?
A
simple tip is to coat
the inside of the nose and nasal hairs with gel or oil (flavored lip
balm
smells best) as this may pick up larger dust/pollen particles
preventing
irritation.
Buy local
farm honey, the closer to
your
house the better as there will be local pollen which can build
resilience
(freshly raw honeycomb is best).
Stop
Dairy products, the
evidence
connecting mucous forming Cow’s milk and cheese is overwhelming.
Most people
are addicted to dairy without realizing and the body can react as
if you
are coming off a hard drug so be aware of headaches and irritability
that
develop
as you remove lactose from your diet, try it for 28days from moon to
moon, and
then see how you feel.
Magnolia
& Chrysanthemum
flowers for
phlegm sinuses (boil one handful of Magnolia Buds and chrysanthemum in
a for 10
mins, strain and serve) –
Peppermint tea + a
sprig of Spring Onion plus honey
If nose
has yellow or
white sticky phlegm
Bean Sprouts – bought or soak and sprout Mung Beans
to create bean
sprouts cheaply.
Aubergine /
Egg Plant, Pears
Any
yellow phlegm from the
Lungs can be resolved by consumption of Bitter foods due to its removal
of Heat
and its descending drying property.
Foods
and Herbs that can
be deemed bitter are;
Dandelion
Leaf, Chamomile tea, Hobs, Valerian, Echinacea, Alfalfa, Rye bread,
Rose
petal.
Hope
these tips are of benefit and will improve
your
Summer like a breath of fresh air.

Thoughts
for the Summer
In being able
to embrace
others with my heart,I am also able to embrace myself and feel more
comfortable about being who I am
Kazuo Fujii, 1997
Be
patient towards all that is unresolved in your heart. Do
not hurry to seek the answer. Live the questions.

THE ART OF
ALLOWING
An introduction to 'FOCUSING' a one day
workshop.
FOCUSING is a simple body
based process in which we learn to sense from the inside the embodied
wisdom that we all carry. Human bodies live immediately and directly in
each situation and we can learn to identify the 'felt sense' of our
experience as a guide to living more fully and effectively.
