Reiki Healing

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese term for spiritual/cosmic energy. It is a system of healing and personal development created in the early part of the 20th century by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is practised by placing healing hands gently on the client, energetically balancing the internal organs, energy meridians and chakra systems of the body. This helps to calm the nervous system and stimulate self-healing processes, releases emotional blockages, and recharges your energy.

What can you treat with Reiki?

You can use Reiki for most common ailments, mental and emotional issues, stress and pain management, and palliative healthcare. Reiki can be combined with all forms of complementary and orthodox medical treatments. Reiki practitioners do not claim to cure or diagnose, but facilitate the process of healing and promoting quality of life.

Is there anything I should do before a treatment?

Best not have a heavy meal before the treatment, but if you feel hungry it is OK to have a small snack. Wear loose comfortable clothing.

Do you have to be religious to benefit from Reiki?

Reiki helps all people regardless of belief. It is based on eastern philosophies but is not a religion. It is non-denominational and is practised by people of all faiths and belief systems. Many people are attracted to Reiki for its universal principles.
