About Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon Hydrotherapy or irrigation is a very gentle treatment using warmed pre-filtered water to flush the colon, therefore releasing stored faecal matter, gas, mucus and toxins. The therapy is particularly useful in treating the following:
Functional bowel conditions; such as Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and constipation.
Some organic disease; such as diverticulosis where regular bowel movements are important.
Many secondary conditions; those effecting other eliminative organs (skin, urinary tract and lungs) if associated with abnormal bowel function.
Cleansing and detoxing the body; if used together with dietary measures.

Some of the benefits that can be felt by the body after treatment are;
Improved bowel function
Increase in energy
Increased mental clarity
Fewer headaches
Clearer Skin
Every client will have their individual experience
About the treatment itself
During your first treatment, a case history will be taken and an explanation of the treatment will be given to you. Any concerns or worries you have can be discussed. You do not need to follow any special measures prior to the treatment, but benefits will be strongly felt if you are following a cleansing program.
The treatment will take approximately 30-45 minutes during which warmed water is introduced into the colon via a small speculum placed in the rectum. Some abdominal massage and herbal implants may be used to help stimulate the release of stored waste in your colon. Some dietary advice may also be given to further enhance your treatment.
Feelings of anxiety and apprehension are completely normal prior to your first treatment. Please don't let this put you off. Your modesty and dignity will be preserved by the use of a gown and towel and by the private and secure therapy room itself. Colon Hydrotherapy is a very safe, gentle treatment. Unlike the use of laxatives, the therapy is not habit forming and actually helps to improve the tone and function of the bowel. Equipment is either disposable or sterilized, using approved sterilizing solutions. The water used during the treatment is pre-filtered and introduced at a very low pressure.
