Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy applies to the use of essential oils that benefit an individual. The sense of smell is linked with our four other senses and is important in our perception of the world around us, and our reactions to it. Touch is of great value in understanding our feelings and relationship with those around us. Aromatherapy can be preventative stimulating the bodies own natural healing processes and be of particular value in balancing our stressful lives.

Essential oils are the concentrated result of extraction processes that retain the smell and energetic qualities of the plant, flower or tree. Individual plant essences resonate with what our body and mind's need, enabling relaxation, resolution of stress, emotional relief and aids a range of health problems. The combination of essential oils and carrier oils like Sweet Almond Oil have a softening, renewing effect on the skin when applied with massage.

An Aromatherapy treatment can include gentle massage techniques combined with a blend of selected essential oils and carrier oils for the individual's needs on that occasion. Relaxation starts immediately with the reception of the wonderful aromas and progresses throughout the treatment as the oil blend is received through the skin and into the body systems. Gentle massage relaxes muscles, helps with fluid retention and detoxifies the body. The oil blend continues to work throughout the body and mind in the days after the treatment.

The Aromatherapist will often give you advice on using aromatherapy at home to enhance the treatment, like bath oil to use until the next appointment and realistic lifestyle guidance.

Real benefits from regular treatments can have a wonderful effect on your well being and general health. Most clients feel uplifted, more relaxed, rejuvenated and able to make more sense of the rhythm of their daily life.

The initial treatment takes around an hour and a half to include a detailed consultation and treatment.
Subsequent treatments are usually one hour long.
